Goaltender Camp Includes:
Goaltenders will be rotated through stations to learn different puck-stopping methods. The instructors will help them enhance their abilities in all aspects of their position. Academy coaches will focus on proper angles, lining up with the shooter, reaction and response techniques, visual and mental awareness, coordination and agility. They will achieve this through fun and exciting drill progressions.
The goaltenders will also learn proper off ice training techniques specific to goaltending. High intensity drills, stations and foot/hand speed development tools will be utilized. |

Coaching Staff

Scott Pearson - Camp Director
Scott Pearson, first round draft pick, 6th overall to the Toronto Maple Leafs, is the head instructor of the Cooler Hockey Academy. Scott brings his NHL experience from teams such as Quebec, Buffalo, Edmonton and the New York Islanders. After winning two Turner Cup Championships with the Chicago Wolves in the IHL, Scott finished his professional career in the German Elite League. Scott also has an extensive coaching background from years of instructing at the famous Huron Hockey Schools in Canada and has coached mite thru midget levels with the Atlanta Fire Hockey Club.
Doug Jones
Doug Jones played his youth hockey for the Atlanta Fire before
leaving to attend Taft School in Watertown, CT. He spent three
years at Taft and two years playing for the Cedar Rapids Roughriders
of the United States Hockey League. He spent four seasons with
Dartmouth College where he played in 127 games and scored 107 points
(29G & 78A). In his last season 2011-2012 he shared the team
lead with 25 points (11G & 14A) in 31 games and was also assistant
captain. In his first season 2008-2009 he was second on the
team when he scored 28 points (6G & 22A) and was named honorable
mention All-Ivy and a member of ECAC's All-Rookie team. He is
currently plays for the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.
Andy Brandt
Andy Brandt played his youth hockey in Wisconsin for the Wausau Warjacks and AAA Team Wisconsin. He played Junior A hockey for
the NAHL Pittsburgh Forge winning a National Championship.
Brandt then joined the University of Wisconsin for 4 years.
While playing for the Badgers he won the NCAA Division 1 National
Championship (2006) and was a two time winner of the Jim Santulli
7th Man Award which recognizes trademarks of team spirit and good
sportsmanship. Andy has played the past 6 years professionally
in both the ECHL and the AHL. He currently plays for the ECHL
Gwinnett Gladiators. He also serves as the Director of Hockey
for The Cooler in Alpharetta, GA. Andy's energy and passion
for the game will certainly rub off on all the players at The Cooler
Hockey Academy Camp.
Dan Bouchard - Goaltending Coach
Dan Bouchard brings 37 years of hockey experience to the program. He enjoyed 16 years as an NHL goalie playing 655 games including 25 career shutouts. He played for such teams as the Atlanta Flames, Calgary Flames, Quebec Nordiques, and the Winnipeg Jets. Dan then became the head goalie coach for the Quebec Nordiques and Winnipeg Jets. As the head coach of Life University's hockey team from 1996 to 2002 he helped lead the team to 5 championships as National Champions of American Collegiate Hockey. His knowledge of the game both on and off the ice is a tremendous addition to the Cooler Hockey Academy.
